Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her stage title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the year, her music circulated throughout Dreamville. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. She released Pho, her debut EP on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she went on to appear on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled No One or Pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26 2019 for her debut album the same title. In February, the music video for this song was released. The song has received more than 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
